Domains under the .uk TLD
.co.uk and .org.uk and .uk
These are open extensions and can be registered by anyone
.me.uk
This SLD is restricted to natural persons, i.e. no companies, agents or proxies. (certain specific exclusions do apply)
.ltd.uk and .plc.uk
These SLDs are reserved for companies registered under the Companies Act 1985 (or later equivalents). A specific algorithm is used to determine what domains a company is eligible for, as defined in Nominet's terms.
.net.uk
This SLD is reserved for internet service providers or other entities managing their own autonomous system.
.mod.uk, .mil.uk, .nhs.uk, .police.uk, .nic.uk, .sch.uk
These are reserved SLDs and we cannot register anything under them.
.ac.uk, .gov.uk, .gov.scot, .gov.wales, .llyw.cymru
These domains cannot be registered or managed through our online systems, however we are a JISC registrar so please fill out our order form and we'll take it from there.
.ax
The .ax registry does not support automatic registration, please contact us to register under this zone.
